Banks are not closed everywhere in India on August 28.

They are closed in 13 cities because of local holidays and celebrations.

These include Raksha Bandhan and several regional observances.

Banks are open in 21 of the 34 cities listed by the RBI.

New Delhi and Mumbai are among the cities where banks are open.

People should check with their local branch before visiting.

The NSE and BSE stock exchanges will also remain open.
