Prysmian Nears All‑Cash Takeover of Atkore
Prysmian, a big Italian cable maker, wants to buy a U.S. company called Atkore.
They are almost finished making a deal that will pay all the money in cash.
If it goes through, Atkore will become part of Prysmian.
Prysmian has already bought other U.S. companies to grow there.
The deal could be announced soon, but it might still change or fall apart.
Both companies’ stock prices have gone up this year.
Prysmian’s boss, Massimo Battaini, said they are looking for a deal worth about €4 billion.
The deal would help Prysmian make more cables for things like data centers.
Italy’s Prysmian is in advanced talks to acquire U.S. electrical maker Atkore Inc. in an all‑cash deal.
The potential transaction values Atkore at roughly $2.5 billion and Prysmian at about €36.3 billion.
Atkore’s shares have risen ~15% this year, while Prysmian’s shares have climbed over a third.
Prysmian has previously bought Encore Wire (€4 billion) and Channell Commercial Corp. (€1 billion) to grow its U.S. presence.
The deal could be announced in the coming days, but negotiations remain subject to delay or collapse.
