Karnataka Finds Expired Food, Bed Bug Powder At Bengaluru PGs
Food safety officers checked 64 places where people live as paying guests in and around Bengaluru.
They were responding to complaints about poor food and dirty conditions.
The officers found some expired foods and products with incorrect labels.
They also found bed bug powder on a dining table next to food at one PG.
The dining area at that PG was sealed because it was unhygienic.
Officials gave notices to 23 PGs.
They collected 12 food samples to test in laboratories.
PG owners were told to store food safely and follow hygiene rules.
Karnataka has also been inspecting other food businesses and acted against online listings of poisonous datura fruits and seeds.
