Delhi EC Holds Camps to Restore Voters Omitted After Demolitions

Delhi is checking its voter lists before publishing the final version.

Some people, including people whose homes were demolished, may have been left off the draft list.

The Election Commission says it will hold special camps to help eligible people get added.

Officials will also visit homes and help people fill out a form to register.

The draft list has 97.5 lakh voters, while 47.7 lakh names were removed.

The article says those removed make up 33% of Delhi’s electorate.

Officials must check the cases by October 29, and the final list is expected on November 4.

The Supreme Court said some notices asking people to prove they could vote seemed to have been issued almost mechanically.
