AJUP Chief Humayun Kabir Arrested During Rejinagar Bypoll Voting

Voting was taking place for two Assembly by-elections in West Bengal.

Humayun Kabir, who founded the Aam Janata Unnayan Party, went to his party office in Rejinagar.

He argued with police officers who were there.

Kabir said police were interfering with voting at several polling places.

Police told him he could not go near the booths because he was not a candidate or an election agent.

Police arrested him later that morning.

An officer said more details would be shared later.

Kabir’s son, Gulam Nabi Azad, was a candidate in Rejinagar.
