AIIMS Bhopal's Gamma Knife Replacement Proposal Rejected
Imagine a hospital in Bhopal wanted to use a new machine called ZAP for brain tumor surgery instead of a machine called Gamma Knife.
The hospital had already been given money for the Gamma Knife.
But the local politician, Alok Sharma, said no to the change because money had already been spent.
The government committee agreed and told the hospital to stick with the Gamma Knife.
They also said the cost of the whole project might be too high and should be checked again.
AIIMS Bhopal's proposal to replace the Gamma Knife with ZAP for brain tumor surgery was rejected.
The rejection followed opposition from Bhopal MP Alok Sharma.
The proposal was part of a larger project with a budget of Rs 151 crore.
The Standing Finance Committee (SFC) advised AIIMS Bhopal to procure the Gamma Knife.
The SFC also suggested a re-evaluation of the combined project's cost.
