Railway Ministry Addresses Rising Cleanliness Complaints
The Railway Ministry is worried because more passengers are complaining about dirty train coaches and bedrolls.
They saw a big jump in complaints in October and November 2025 compared to September.
At the same time, fewer passengers said the trains were 'excellent' or 'satisfactory.'
The ministry asked all the different parts of the railway to find out why this is happening and to do better at fixing these problems.
They have a special app called Rail Madad where passengers can complain, and the ministry wants to make sure these complaints are dealt with quickly and well.
Cleanliness complaints on Rail Madad app rose by 50% in October and November 2025 compared to September.
Positive feedback ('excellent' and 'satisfactory') declined marginally during the same period.
The Railway Ministry has asked all zones to analyze the reasons for the decline and improve grievance redressal.
Complaints about bedrolls increased from 8,758 in September to 13,406 in October and 13,196 in November.
Complaints about coach cleanliness rose from 24,758 in September to 33,804 in October and 36,673 in November.
