India Open May Become Super 1000 Event
The India Open badminton tournament might become a Super 1000 event, which is one of the highest levels in badminton.
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is also thinking about changing the format of these big events.
They want to make them more exciting and easier to watch on TV.
Instead of just a knockout system, they might introduce a league-cum-knockout format starting in 2027.
This means teams or players might first play in a league and then the top ones move to a knockout stage.
The final decision will be made later this year.
