Kerala High Court Orders SIT Probe into Illegal Surrogacy

The Kerala High Court has asked the police to form a special team to investigate illegal surrogacy and egg donation activities in the state.

The court said this team should start work right away.

The court was looking at a case where an ART bank asked for some people to be freed from police custody.

The police found out that there were illegal things happening, like ads online offering money for egg donation and surrogacy.

The court also said that the rules about surrogacy and ART should be made known to the public better.

The next hearing is on December 10, when the government will tell the court about the special team.

ART banks help people who can't have children to have biological kids using special technologies.

The laws say only certain people can use these services and no one should be paid for eggs or surrogacy except for medical costs.
