Bajaj Auto to Launch Electric Pulsar in FY28
Bajaj Auto, a well-known motorcycle company, is planning to launch an electric version of its popular Pulsar motorcycle in the financial year 2028.
The company's Chief Financial Officer, Dinesh Thapar, mentioned that the development of this electric motorcycle is already quite advanced.
Bajaj Auto plans to introduce this new electric motorcycle in overseas markets before bringing it to India.
This move is part of Bajaj's strategy to adapt to stricter electric vehicle policies, especially in markets like Delhi.
Currently, Bajaj sells around 2,000 motorcycles with internal combustion engines in Delhi each month.
The company wants to ensure that the demand for their conventional motorcycles is not completely replaced by electric vehicles.
The launch of the electric Pulsar will mark Bajaj's entry into the growing market of electric motorcycles, which is expanding beyond just electric scooters.
Bajaj Auto plans to launch its first electric motorcycle, the Pulsar, in FY28.
Exports will be prioritized over the domestic market for the launch.
Development of the electric motorcycle is already at an advanced stage.
Bajaj Auto currently sells around 2,000 ICE motorcycles monthly in Delhi.
Delhi's EV policy bans ICE two-wheelers and three-wheelers from April 2028 and January 2027, respectively.
