Cybercrime Surges as Major Security Threat in Assam
Cybercrime is becoming a big problem in Assam, India.
Over 18,000 people have been arrested for things like online scams, fake IDs, and other digital crimes since 2014.
The government is trying to stop these crimes by setting up helplines, teaching people how to stay safe online, and improving their technology.
They are also working on other crimes like theft and murder, which are still happening but have decreased in some areas.
The government wants to make sure people are safe both online and offline.
Cybercrime has become one of Assam's fastest-growing security threats, with over 18,315 arrests since 2014.
