Israel’s Syria Strikes Deepen Tensions With Damascus and Washington

Israel carried out another strike in southern Syria.

The strike happened in a village near the Golan Heights and injured one person.

Israel said it was attacking a militant who might hurt Israeli soldiers.

Syria said the attack was illegal and violated its sovereignty.

Israel has conducted many strikes in Syria since Bashar al-Assad’s government fell in December 2024.

Israel says it wants to stop armed groups from getting close to its border.

The United States also criticized an earlier Israeli strike on a former military base in Syria.

These events show that Israel, Syria, Turkey, and the United States have different ideas about security and control in post-Assad Syria.
