Iran Seizes Cargo Vessel in Strait of Hormuz Over Pollution

Iran says it stopped a large ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

Officials accused the ship of dumping dirty waste into the water.

The waste reportedly included burnt oil, bilge water and industrial sludge.

Cleanup workers removed the pollution.

The ship was then sent to the judiciary, which will handle the case.

Iran did not say which country the ship belonged to.

It also did not disclose the crew members’ nationalities.

The seizure happened after other oil spills were reported in the region.
