India-Oman Free Trade Pact Approved

India and Oman have approved a free trade agreement (FTA) that will reduce or eliminate customs duties on many goods.

This agreement is expected to boost trade and investment between the two countries.

India's Union Cabinet approved the FTA, and it is expected to be signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Oman on December 17-18, 2024.

Oman is a significant trade partner for India, especially for imports like petroleum products and urea.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will visit Jordan and Ethiopia from December 15 to 18, 2024, to strengthen bilateral ties in areas like trade, defence, and regional cooperation.

This visit marks important anniversaries in India's diplomatic relations with these countries.
