North Korea's Foreign Minister Visits Russia for Talks
The foreign minister of North Korea, Choe Son Hui, went to Russia to talk with their foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov.
This trip is important because North Korea and Russia have been working together more closely, especially in military matters.
North Korea has been helping Russia in its war in Ukraine by giving them weapons and soldiers.
In return, Russia has been giving North Korea money, technology, and other supplies.
Some countries, like South Korea and the European Union, are not happy about this partnership.
But North Korea says they have the right to work with Russia as they choose.
North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui traveled to Moscow for talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The visit follows strengthened relations since Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Pyongyang in 2024.
North Korea has supplied Russia with missiles, munitions, and troops for the war in Ukraine.
Russia has provided North Korea with financial aid, military technology, food, and energy in return.
The partnership has drawn criticism from South Korea and the European Union, but North Korea defends it as an exercise of sovereign rights.
