Telangana AE Association Seeks Higher Direct Recruitment Quota
The Telangana State Electricity Assistant Engineers’ Association (TSEAEA) wants the government to change the rules for hiring Assistant Engineers (AE) in the state's power companies.
Right now, only 40% of these jobs are filled by hiring new graduates directly.
The rest go to people already working in the company, even if they don't have the right degrees.
The association says this rule is old and doesn't fit today's needs.
They want 80% of these jobs to be filled by hiring new graduates directly, because the power sector now needs people with up-to-date knowledge and skills.
They also say that other companies and organizations hire this way, so the power companies should too.
TSEAEA urges the Telangana government to increase direct recruitment for Assistant Engineers (AE) to 80%.
Current regulations favor diploma holders and in-service employees, limiting direct recruitment to 40%.
The association argues that outdated rules do not align with modern technological advancements in the power sector.
Direct recruitment for junior lineman positions is already at 100%, highlighting inconsistency in AE recruitment.
TSEAEA seeks merit-based selection to ensure the hiring of talented and knowledgeable engineers.
