Libya denies kidnapping, says Indian family detained for illegal migration

An Indian family was reported to have been kidnapped in Libya, but the Libyan government says they were actually caught trying to enter Europe illegally.

The family was stopped by security and taken care of by a local Libyan family while arrangements were made to send them back to India.

The Libyan government clarified that no kidnapping took place and asked people to stop spreading false information.

The family had traveled from India to Dubai and then to Libya, where they were detained.

The initial reports in India claimed a ransom was demanded, but the Libyan government says this was not true.
