CCPA Fines Dial4Trade Rs 10 Lakh Over Ammonium Nitrate Listing

CCPA Fines Dial4Trade Rs 10 Lakh Over Ammonium Nitrate Listing

A government consumer-protection agency fined an online marketplace called Dial4Trade Rs 10 lakh.

The fine was about a listing for ammonium nitrate, a substance with strict legal controls.

The agency said the website did not properly check the seller's licence or the buyer's identity.

It also said the listing did not clearly explain the legal dangers and restrictions.

Pictures showing explosions were used with the listing.

The agency said this made the product look like an ordinary item for sale.

Dial4Trade said it was only connecting businesses and should not be responsible for sellers' listings.

The agency disagreed and ordered the platform to stop listing ammonium nitrate and other explosives.
