Women Lawyers Demand 30% Quota in Telangana Bar Council Polls
Women lawyers in Telangana are asking for a special rule to make sure 30% of the people in the Bar Council are women.
They think it's not fair that women aren't represented enough in a group that is supposed to stand for justice and equality.
They even went to the Bar Council office to show they mean business.
One of the lawyers, Dr. G. Subhashini, has even asked the Supreme Court to help with this.
They want this change to happen right away, before the next election.
Women advocates in Telangana demanded 30% reservation in Bar Council elections.
They protested at the Bar Council office gate, holding placards.
The protesters urged the implementation of the Supreme Court’s directions on reservation.
Advocate Dr. G. Subhashini filed an impleadment petition in the Supreme Court on the matter.
The women lawyers met with the Bar Council chairman and secretary to press their demands.
