Bhopal Traders Shut Markets Demanding Removal of Moti Masjid Barricades

Bhopal Traders Shut Markets Demanding Removal of Moti Masjid Barricades

Lots of shop owners in a busy part of Bhopal city got very upset.

The police had put up big barriers, called barricades, on the road near a famous old mosque called Moti Masjid.

The barriers were there to stop cars from going the wrong way and to keep people safer.

But the shop owners said the barriers made it much harder for customers to reach their shops.

People had to drive longer, roundabout routes to visit the market.

The shop owners closed their shops and stood on the road to protest.

They said they had already told the police and the local government about their problem at a rally on Wednesday.

They also said the barriers slowed down a fire truck during a big fire on August 1.

The police said the barriers are needed to stop accidents.

The shop owners promised to keep protesting until the barriers are removed.
