Scindia Defends India’s Starlink Licensing Policy Amid Political Row

India is working out rules for satellite internet companies.

Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said three companies already have licences.

The government still has to decide how spectrum charges will work.

Companies must also meet security conditions before they can start operating.

Elon Musk said Starlink’s efforts to enter India were “troubling.”

He said Starlink had not secured a licence despite complying with Indian requirements for five years.

Rahul Gandhi replied to Musk on X with a message welcoming him to India.

Scindia criticised Congress, saying the government’s policy was clear.

The disagreement is about Starlink’s entry and the licensing process.
