Iran Operates Outside NPT Framework

Iran is currently acting as if it is not part of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

The country has stopped giving required information to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and has not allowed any inspectors into the country.

Iran's deputy foreign minister said that discussing a possible withdrawal from the treaty is not off the table, but any decision would need careful consideration of legal, security, religious, and strategic factors.

This action shows a worsening relationship between Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog, although Iran has not officially left the NPT.
