Ballari Officials Reclaim Crores-Worth Government Land After Encroachment Complaints

Officials in Ballari cleared people from two pieces of government land.

Local residents had complained that one property was being used for farming.

Wastewater from a nearby lake was pumped onto the land for irrigation.

Officials used earth movers to remove the encroachment.

They also removed pipes and motor pumps.

A sign was put up saying the land belonged to the Karnataka government.

Another encroached site near a major road was cleared too.

Authorities said they will protect public land, lakes, and water bodies.
