Rayalaseema Horticulture Plan Sets Three-Year, Rs 40,352-Crore Roadmap
Rayalaseema has a plan to improve farming and horticulture over three years, from August 2026 to July 2029.
The work is divided into six half-year packages and three larger phases.
The government plans to invest Rs 40,352 crore.
Much of the money will go toward irrigation, with more for horticulture and rural roads.
The first phase focuses on water projects and 72 horticulture clusters.
The next phase adds 67 clusters and develops major canals.
The final phase aims to complete water distribution systems and bring all 201 clusters to full development.
The plan also includes support for micro-irrigation, farmer groups, skills and agri-business start-ups.
Private investment is expected to help raise the total proposed investment to about Rs 1 lakh crore.
The Integrated Horticulture Development Plan for Rayalaseema is scheduled to run from August 2026 to July 2029.
Its six half-yearly investment packages are grouped into three phases, with allocations of Rs 12,066 crore, Rs 15,036 crore and Rs 13,250 crore.
The Rs 40,352-crore government investment is split among irrigation (Rs 20,884 crore), horticulture (Rs 14,906 crore) and rural roads (Rs 4,562 crore).
The plan aims to create a new ayacut of nine lakh acres and stabilise another 4.3 lakh acres, while developing all 201 horticulture clusters.
