Khandu Calls Arunachal’s Staff Recruitment Board a Landmark Reform
Arunachal Pradesh created the APSSB to make government hiring fairer.
Before that, individual departments handled many recruitments themselves.
The Board now conducts exams for many Group C and D jobs.
Since 2019, it has recommended 5,836 people for government appointments.
Many young people have taken part in its exams.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu said the system encourages students to study and compete fairly.
He also said the Board needs more workers, technology and space.
The government will examine ways to strengthen the Board as it handles more exams.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu described the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board as a historic recruitment reform.
The APSSB was created under the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board Act, 2018, replacing departmental recruitment for many Group C and D posts.
Since beginning examinations in 2019, the Board has conducted 38 examinations and recommended 5,836 candidates for appointment.
Khandu said the merit-based system has promoted transparency, competition and greater preparation among Arunachal Pradesh’s youth.
