Rajnath Singh Urges Technology-Focused Preparedness for Future Warfare
Rajnath Singh said countries should not accept peace only because they are afraid of war.
He said fighting may sometimes be necessary to protect peace.
He explained that modern conflicts do not happen only on land, in the air or at sea.
Computers and outer space are now also important parts of warfare.
Because threats can change quickly, India needs to prepare in many different ways.
Singh said India is developing its own unmanned aircraft and other defence technology.
The government is also using artificial intelligence in defence systems.
It is encouraging more defence equipment to be made inside India and is spending more on research.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said peace created by fear of war is condemnable, while war fought for peace can be essential.
He said national-security threats now extend beyond land, air and sea into cyber and space.
Singh called for a holistic approach focused on technology and development as threats become more fluid.
He highlighted India’s indigenous unmanned aerial vehicles, including Rustom, Ghatak and Nagastra.
The government has added 5,222 items to its positive indigenisation list and raised defence research spending above Rs 29,000 crore.
