India and ASEAN to Continue Trade Pact Review

India and countries in Southeast Asia (ASEAN) are working to improve their trade agreement.

Representatives from both sides are meeting in Jakarta to discuss the agreement, which was first signed in 2009 and fully reviewed in 2023.

They'll review the rules to make trade fairer.

The goal is to make sure trade between India and ASEAN is balanced and sustainable.

There are eight groups looking at different parts of the agreement.

Progress will be discussed at a summit in Kuala Lumpur.
