Pune Mayor directs civic body to provide dhol-tasha practice space

In the city of Pune in India, people are getting ready for a big festival called Ganesh festival, which lasts for ten days.

During this festival, special groups called dhol-tasha teams play loud traditional drums and music in processions.

These teams need places to practice before the festival begins.

Pune's mayor, Manjusha Nagpure, asked the city administration to give the teams space and permission to practice.

She suggested places like riverbeds, open city grounds, and spots where they will not block traffic.

She also said the teams must follow rules so their music is not too noisy and does not bother people.

The mayor said the Ganesh festival is a proud part of Pune's culture and traditions.

She said the dhol-tasha teams help keep this tradition alive and should be encouraged so the city's cultural identity is passed on to future generations.
