NIA May Take Over MP Lone-Wolf Attack Probe
Police in Madhya Pradesh arrested four people they believe were part of a suspected attack group.
The group is accused of planning lone-wolf attacks, which are attacks carried out by individuals.
Investigators say the group may have received instructions from a person in Pakistan.
The suspects allegedly communicated through apps such as Telegram and WhatsApp.
The case involves several Indian states.
The National Investigation Agency, or NIA, has asked to see the investigation papers.
It may take over the case, but the state Anti-Terror Squad is still investigating for now.
Police are checking phones and other electronic devices for more evidence.
The National Investigation Agency may take over the Madhya Pradesh ATS investigation into an alleged lone-wolf attack module.
Four people have been arrested in a case spanning Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Investigators allege the module had links to a Pakistani handler contacted through social media.
The NIA requested the investigation papers, which the MP ATS has provided, while the ATS continues its probe.
Digital devices seized from the accused are being examined, and police say members were allegedly told to obtain passports for travel to Pakistan.
