Vijayawada Collector Accelerates Tourism Projects
The NTR district collector, Dr G Lakshmisha, told officials to speed up tourism projects in Vijayawada.
He wants a big entertainment park on Bhavani Island finished by July 2027, with wedding venues, water sports, and a big hall.
He also wants to improve a boating club and add a small theatre for school films.
Roads, power, and buses will be upgraded for a big festival called Vijayawada Utsav.
The collector plans to bring back a Disneyland park, get money from a central scheme for temples, and turn a fort into a place for adventure sports.
All these plans aim to bring more visitors, jobs, and money to the area.
Collector Dr G Lakshmisha ordered fast‑tracking of all tourism projects beyond the Detailed Project Report stage.
The 75‑crore AMC Entertainment Project on Bhavani Island is to be completed by July 2027, featuring wedding venues, water sports, and a 500‑seat convention hall.
Upgrades to Amaravati Boating Club and a new 75‑seat mini‑theatre at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Kala Vedika are mandated.
Infrastructure improvements for the River Harathi programme and the Vijayawada Utsav festival are required, including road, power, and APSRTC bus services.
Plans include reviving CIBAR Disneyland, securing PRASAD scheme funds for temples, and converting Kondapalli Fort into an adventure tourism site.
