Eastern Railway Medical Teams Aid Exhausted Shravani Mela Pilgrims

Many people walk long distances to visit Baba Baidyanath Dham during the Shravani Mela.

Some pilgrims become tired, dehydrated or hurt along the way.

Eastern Railway has medical teams working day and night at Deoghar and Jasidih stations.

The teams treated painful foot blisters and other injuries.

They also helped a confused pilgrim who was suffering from heat exhaustion.

Doctors gave him oral rehydration solution and watched him until he became alert again.

Railway staff also provided wheelchairs, resting spaces, water and toilets.

These services are meant to help pilgrims travel home safely and avoid more serious health problems.
