RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Backs Wider Reservation Reach, Cites Ambedkar
Mohan Bhagwat is the leader of a big group in India called the RSS.
He talked to young people at a special meeting.
He said that programs called reservation should stay until unfair treatment based on caste is gone.
Reservation helps people from communities that were treated unfairly get better chances at education and jobs.
Bhagwat said people who got this help should share it with others who still need it.
He said these programs should not be used by politicians to win votes or create bad feelings.
He wants the help to bring people together, not divide them.
The meeting was held in Mumbai and ended with a special gesture.
Other leaders also spoke, and one said the government should have acted earlier to stop trouble at a place called Jantar Mantar.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said reservation must continue as long as social discrimination exists, citing BR Ambedkar's vision.
Bhagwat urged those who benefited from reservation to pass the benefit on to others who have not received it.
He noted growing demands for categorisation of quotas in several states and a Supreme Court observation on the issue.
Bhagwat criticised political manipulation of reservation, saying politics over it creates bad blood and the measure was meant for social unity.
World Trade Centre Chairman Vijay Kalantri said proactive government intervention, including an early task force and dialogue, could have prevented the chaos and infiltration at Jantar Mantar.

Duration of reservation
Supporters of Continued and Wider Reservation
Reservation must remain active until social discrimination is completely eradicated, and those who benefited should pass the benefit on to others who have not received it.
Advocates of Temporary, Self-Limiting Quotas
Reservation is meant as a temporary stepping stone for upliftment; if all measures are properly implemented, its need should soon end and beneficiaries should make way for others.
Politics around reservation
Supporters of Continued and Wider Reservation
Welfare measures must be executed with transparency and purity of intent, free from politics, because the measure was brought for social unity.
Advocates of Temporary, Self-Limiting Quotas
Politics has been done over reservation, which creates bad blood; political entities manipulate welfare systems for partisan gains rather than implementing them properly.
Government handling of unrest at Jantar Mantar
Supporters of Continued and Wider Reservation
Proactive government intervention, such as constituting a task force and initiating dialogue early, could have prevented the unfortunate chaos and infiltration.
Advocates of Temporary, Self-Limiting Quotas
The delay in government response allowed other political or anti-social elements to infiltrate the movement, which led to the ensuing chaos.
