Assam's 'Model Village' Still Lacks Clean Drinking Water
Imagine a village called Mazirgaon that was supposed to be a special 'model village.'
This means the government promised to make it really nice, like having clean water and other good things.
But even though they said it would happen five years ago, the people in Mazirgaon still don't have clean water.
The government gave money to fix things, but it hasn't worked yet.
The people are asking the government to finally give them the clean water they were promised, because a model village should have basic things like water.
Mazirgaon was declared a 'model village' under the Assam Adarsha Gaon Yojana.
Residents still lack access to clean drinking water.
The announcement was made approximately five years ago.
West Guwahati MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita declared Mazirgaon as a 'model village'.
