US probes likely munition strike on Iranian wedding

A wedding in southern Iran was hit during a larger military attack.

Several people died, including a young woman and a four-year-old child.

Iranian officials said nearly 70 people were hurt.

Experts who studied pictures and videos said the damage looked like a direct hit from a U.S. weapon.

The United States has not accepted responsibility for the wedding incident.

U.S. officials said they are investigating what happened.

They are also considering whether an Iranian missile or another interceptor could have caused the damage.

The United States said its strikes were aimed at military targets, not civilians.

Iran responded by attacking several U.S. bases, but the fighting appeared to calm later on Thursday.
