Thane Launches Dog Vaccination Drive With Colored Belts Amid Rising Attacks
The city of Thane is starting a big project to give shots to all the stray dogs.
This is because more and more dogs have been biting people, especially kids and older folks.
Lots of stray dogs live in Thane, and sadly, many new puppies are born each month.
To keep people safe and help with the dog problem, the city will give shots to about 25,000 to 28,000 dogs.
After a dog gets its shot, it will wear a special colored belt.
This helps everyone know which dogs have been vaccinated and stops them from getting the shot again.
It's a 15-day plan to help make the city safer for everyone.
Thane Municipal Corporation is launching a vaccination drive for stray dogs starting November 14.
Vaccinated dogs will be identified by colored belts around their necks.
The drive aims to address a rise in dog attacks, particularly affecting children and senior citizens.
An estimated 50,000–60,000 stray dogs reside in Thane, with an ongoing need to control their population.
A 15-day vaccination pulse program is planned from January 15, targeting 25,000–28,000 dogs with 100 employees.
