Andhra Pradesh Opens 9 Lakh Acres For Registration
The Andhra Pradesh government will allow people to register 9 lakh acres of freehold land.
Officials said this land follows the required rules.
Another 4 lakh acres will be checked because officials found possible problems there.
The government said 28 lakh acres were removed from a list that blocks certain land registrations.
This list is called the 22-A prohibited list.
Two government orders explain how land can be removed from or added to that list.
Officials warned that action will be taken if private land is wrongly placed on the list.
The government is also using blockchain technology and a new survey program to improve land records.
The Andhra Pradesh government permitted registration of 9 lakh acres of compliant freehold, or pre-hold, land.
Officials will conduct a detailed inquiry into another 4 lakh acres where irregularities were identified.
The government said 28 lakh acres had been removed from the prohibited 22-A list.
GO 444 simplifies removal from the 22-A list, while GO 445 sets procedures for adding private land to it.
