Kalyan Records Over 250 Dog-Bite Cases; KDMC Intensifies Drive
Many people in a city called Kalyan got bitten by street dogs over two days.
More than 250 people said they were bitten.
The local hospital got very busy, with long queues for anti-rabies shots.
Nobody knows for sure why so many bites happened so suddenly.
City officials are working to catch dogs in the areas where most bites happened.
They also want to neuter more stray dogs so the number of street dogs stops growing.
A city leader said there are more than 80,000 stray dogs in the area.
Some animal lovers think the city should run better sterilisation programmes in every neighbourhood.
They also believe animal rescue groups and citizens should help with awareness.
