Piyush Goyal Pushes India-Japan Investment in Chips and Industry

India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal visited Japan for four days.

He met government officials, banks, industry groups and many Japanese companies.

He asked them to invest more in India and build factories and technology partnerships there.

Semiconductors, electronic parts, artificial intelligence and steel were important topics.

Goyal said India has many young skilled workers and a growing manufacturing industry.

Japanese companies could bring technology and engineering experience to work with Indian businesses.

The talks also covered reliable electricity, water and workers for new chip-making areas in India.

Goyal invited businesses from central Japan to visit India and explore opportunities.

The visit was connected to a goal of attracting JPY 10 trillion in Japanese private investment over the next decade.
