Delhi Plans Pollution-Free Park with Air Purifiers
Imagine Nehru Park as a place where you can breathe really clean air.
The Delhi government is trying to make that happen!
They're using special machines that suck up dirty stuff from the air, like tiny bits of dust.
These machines were tested in places with lots of buses and people.
They worked pretty well!
The machines store the dirt for a long time and will be thrown away safely later.
The government won't have to pay for this, as companies will fund the project.
If the clean air plan works well at Nehru Park, they want to try it at other busy places too.
Delhi government plans to make Nehru Park a pollution-free zone using air purifiers.
Air purifiers installed in 2023-2025 on a trial basis at multiple locations showed positive results.
The air purifiers, developed with Umeandus Technologies, capture and store particulate matter for three years.
Around 150 machines are estimated for Nehru Park, a CSR initiative with no government spending.
The project aims to be expanded to Sarojini Nagar Market if successful.
