PSL 2027 Dates Set, Overlapping With IPL for Third Year
The Pakistan Super League is a cricket competition.
Its 2027 season is planned for March 18 through May 2.
Those dates mean it will happen at the same time as the Indian Premier League for the third year in a row.
Organizers considered holding the tournament in January and February instead.
But winter fog and cold weather in Punjab could make matches difficult.
They also worried the later games might fall during Ramadan.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed the dates but has not named the venues.
The previous season was held in Lahore and Karachi, and most games had no spectators.
The 12th Pakistan Super League is scheduled to run from March 18 to May 2, 2027.
The dates mean the PSL will overlap with the Indian Premier League for a third consecutive year.
The Pakistan Cricket Board and PSL franchises considered moving the tournament to January and February but ruled out that window.
Winter fog and harsh weather in Punjab, as well as a possible overlap with Ramadan, were cited as concerns with the proposed dates.
The PCB has not announced venues; the previous edition was restricted to Lahore and Karachi, with matches except the final played behind closed doors.
