Kerala Rains Persist, Floods Recede Slowly, Hundreds in Relief Camps

Kerala Rains Persist, Floods Recede Slowly, Hundreds in Relief Camps

It has been raining a lot in the Indian state of Kerala.

The rain has caused floods that cover roads and houses with water.

Many families had to leave their homes and are staying in special shelters called relief camps.

The water is going down very slowly in some places.

Some roads are so full of water that people travel in small boats instead of cars or buses.

The weather experts say more heavy rain is coming on Sunday and gave a special warning.

Because of the rain, schools and colleges in eight districts were closed for the day.

People are being told to be careful of strong winds and not to stand under big trees.

Local officials are helping people who live in weak houses move to safer shelters.

Everyone hopes the water will go away soon so life can get back to normal.
