Officials Ordered to Remain in Flood-Affected Villages for Restoration
The Polavaram district in India was hit by floods from the Godavari and Sabari rivers.
The district officials, led by Sub-Collector Shubham Nokwal, told all officers to stay in the flooded villages until everything is fixed.
They are cleaning roads, removing mud, making water safe, and checking for diseases.
They also set up teams to watch over the work and give out mosquito nets.
The normal warning level will be lifted soon, and the complaint system is paused so everyone can focus on fixing the damage.
District administration ordered officials to remain in flood-hit villages until restoration is complete.
Sub-Collector Shubham Nokwal chaired a teleconference reviewing progress on sanitation, public health, and infrastructure repair.
34 officers appointed as nodal officers across four mandals; supervisory teams deployed in Kunavaram, VR Puram, Chintoor, and Yetapaka.
Priorities include silt removal, road cleaning, water purification, chlorination, fogging, medical camps, disease surveillance, power and communication restoration, and malaria prevention.
The Public Grievance Redressal System in Chintoor division was temporarily suspended to focus on rehabilitation efforts.
