Thomas Cook India opened its first foreign exchange outlet in Varanasi on Friday, expanding its network in Uttar Pradesh to five outlets.
The new store in Nadesar serves local customers, inbound travellers, and NRIs, with a focus on Varanasi's high-potential market due to tourism and student travel.
Services include 26 global destination currencies, overseas remittances, prepaid travel cards, and digital services like TC Pay and Forex on WhatsApp.
The company offers zero transaction fees for the outlet's launch and provides a two-hour doorstep delivery service called 'Ghar pe Forex'.
Deepesh Varma, EVP of Foreign Exchange at Thomas Cook, highlighted Varanasi's vibrant tourism and education sectors as key drivers for the expansion.
