BCCI introduces uniform fitness tests amid declining standards concerns

BCCI introduces uniform fitness tests amid declining standards concerns

Cricket is played by many people in India, and the people who run the game are called the BCCI.

They check that players are healthy and fit, like how your school might have a fitness test.

Lately, the BCCI worried that some players were not as fit as they should be.

So they decided to make one big fitness test for all Indian cricketers.

Before, different players got different tests, and some senior players even had easier goals.

The main test is now called the Bronco test, which involves running.

Doctors also set time limits, like finishing the running drills in about five minutes and the 2-kilometre run in about nine or ten minutes.

One fast bowler, Harshit Rana, was told he was too heavy and had to lose weight before playing again.

The BCCI says these strict rules will help all players stay healthy and play better.
