Mohali Hospital Ordered to Pay ₹20,000 Over Changing Bills

Mohali Hospital Ordered to Pay ₹20,000 Over Changing Bills

A 70-year-old man went to a private hospital in Mohali for spinal surgery.

He stayed there from December 16 to December 22, 2021.

The hospital gave him three different bills for the same treatment period.

The bills were for ₹8.46 lakh, ₹5.91 lakh and ₹4.75 lakh.

The man sent the hospital a legal notice.

A Punjab consumer commission said the changing bills showed poor service.

It also found the hospital negligent in allowing him to leave.

The hospital must pay him ₹20,000 and deposit another ₹20,000 into legal and consumer welfare funds.
