Pune Society Establishes Dedicated Dog Feeding Area
In a housing society in Pune, residents decided to create a special place for feeding stray dogs.
This was done to make sure the dogs are taken care of and to stop any problems they might cause.
The feeding area is away from places where children play and where people park their cars.
The residents have fixed times for feeding the dogs and volunteers clean up the area.
This has made the society safer and happier for both the people and the dogs.
Animal lovers and experts think this is a great idea that other societies can follow.
Megapolis Sangria Society in Hinjewadi inaugurated a dedicated community dog feeding area on 21st December 2023.
The feeding spot is located away from children’s play areas, parking zones, and building entrances.
Feeding hours are fixed, and clean-ups are mandatory, handled by volunteers.
The initiative has reduced safety and hygiene issues, making residents feel safer.
Animal welfare advocates see this as a promising model for urban India.
