Delhi Audit Marks 190 Parks High Risk, Finds Sparse CCTV

The Delhi Development Authority checked the safety of 736 parks after a teenage girl was allegedly attacked in Aastha Kunj Park.

It marked 190 parks as high risk, 258 as medium risk and 288 as low risk.

The audit found that many parks need brighter lights and that only 16 have CCTV cameras.

The authority says cameras are proposed for 323 more parks.

It has started night patrols in 245 major parks and bike patrols in every high-risk park.

Lighting work has been completed in 106 parks, and 231 were picked for priority work.

The audit also found problems with gates, signs and park boundaries.

These checks and planned changes are intended to address safety gaps in the parks.
