Election Commission Lifts Model Code of Conduct in Select Areas
The government has removed some special rules about how things can be done during elections in certain areas.
These rules, called the model code of conduct, were taken away on Wednesday in a few places after the elections were over.
This includes some villages and areas called mandals.
However, the special rules are still in place in other areas where elections are still happening.
This means that people in those areas still have to follow the rules until their elections are done.
The State Election Commission (SEC) lifted the model code of conduct in specific gram panchayats and mandals.
The lifted code applies to Kondapi and Kadiapulanka gram panchayats.
The code is also lifted in the mandals of Ramakuppam, Karempudi, and Vidavaluru.
The lifting of the code occurred on Wednesday following the completion of elections.
The model code of conduct remains in force in Pulivendula and Kadapa revenue divisions.
