BS7 Could Create ₹10,000-Crore Annual Opportunity for Component Makers

BS7 Could Create ₹10,000-Crore Annual Opportunity for Component Makers

India is planning stricter pollution rules called Bharat Stage 7, or BS7.

These rules would require vehicles to use more pollution-control equipment.

That could create about ₹10,000 crore in new yearly business for component makers.

Large trucks and buses may need the most expensive new equipment.

Cars, buses and motorcycles would also need added sensors, filters or electronic controls.

Motorcycles could be especially important because India sells more than two crore of them each year.

The automobile industry is debating whether motorcycles should initially face real-world emissions testing.

Officials are still preparing the draft rules, so the final opportunity and timeline are not yet certain.
