India Domestic Air Demand Falls 6.3% in July

Fewer people flew within India in July than in the same month last year.

Passenger demand fell by 6.3%.

This was the weakest result among the major domestic aviation markets.

Airlines responded by offering about 6% fewer seats.

Because there were fewer seats, planes were still fairly full.

The average load factor was 82.7%.

China’s domestic air travel grew by 5.3% during the same month.

The figures suggest Indian airlines are still dealing with weaker demand.
